In January, I had a medical leave of absence for a week and during that time had the opportunity to go with the girls to their school skating.
In February, Jaelyn and Ava celebrated their 7th birthday. We went to Mike's Place for supper with Grandma and Grandpa Koomans and Roffel and Aunt Melissa and Uncle Kyle. They had a party with their school friends and then their church friends.
During March Break we hit some golf balls, went bowling with some friends, and enjoyed some nature.
In April we went to Colasanti's on Good Friday with Grandma and Grandpa Roffel. Jaelyn help hold a very large snake and a deer ate out of her hand. Ava also fed a goat.
They continued their passion for gymnastics. Here's a picture of them with Coach Erin.
In May, Brian and I attended 2 weddings. Retrofest also happened in downtown Chatham. Jaelyn and Ava loved all the old cars.
June was a busy month with a field trip to Clovermead near Aylmer. Brian was the bus driver for the trip. The girls finished off another school year and did very well in grade 1. They also continued playing soccer and gymnastics.
July is always vacation time for us. We travel to Elim Lodge a camp ground near Peterborough for 2 weeks.
The girls attend the kids' program everyday while they are there. Midweek they have a triathlon. In the first week Jaelyn partnered up with 2 friends and finished 2nd. Ava partnered up with cousins and finished 4th. The second week, Jaelyn and Ava were with their cousin and finished 4th. Brian was in the quadramarathon both week and won both weeks. The first week he canoed and ran. The second week he canoed.
Everyone did lots of tubing, wakeboarding, swinging from the rope, badminton, gaga ball, and of course relaxing.
That brings us to August. Swimmings, soccer, and gymnastics has been on the agenda for most of this month.
That that brings us to now....
Hopefully next time won't take so long.
